Pick your choice: 12 Days of Light is a collection of exciting lighting events in Copenhagen and Malmö 12th-23rd of September 2018.

12 days of light kicks off with Lysets Dag (‘Lighting Day’) in Copenhagen and finishes with the urban lighting concept Metropolis :byLIGHT in Malmö – with a lighting conference and living lab visits in between.


Need to Know. Lysets Dag (’Lighting Day’)

Lysets Dag is the biggest annual lighting event in Denmark, and is a must for lighting professionals in Denmark. The day offers a high-level conference with speakers from Denmark and abroad, exhibition of new lighting technology and projects and networking. This year’s theme is ‘Need to Know”, and will bring the latest news on legislation in daylight and artificial lighting and how the new research in human vision impacts good lighting design.

Lighting Metropolis International Conference & Living Lab Tours

The Lighting Metropolis partners across Greater Copenhagen have spent the last three years building a world-leading living lab for smart urban and human centric lighting. This conference (13th -14th Sept) is the official launch and opening of the living labs and its unique eco system for innovative collaboration. You will have the opportunity to visit some of the 30 demonstration projects in the region (tours 12th through 14th Sept). The conference will include talks, seminars, workshops by industry leaders, visionary cities and cutting-edge researchers.

Light & Dark. Academic conference

Our three University partners share and discuss their research and findings from Lighting Metropolis, plus invite leading academics in the field to present cutting-edge knowledge. Call for papers will be announced soon.

Metropolis: by LIGHT

Finally, it’s time for Metropolis: by LIGHT in the Lighting Metropolis.

As a result of a partnership between lighting designers, architects, landscape-architects, illumination planners and manufacturers, Urban Lights will exhibit fresh solutions for the illumination of public places.

Under the title Artistic Light, artists with an interest in light-based art will create exciting installations. Students from different educational institutions will be given a possibility to create exhibitions under the name of Tentative Light.
